Anyone out there have contacts in the SCA group in Jackson, MS (Iron Ox)?

I have a friend down there who's been trying to get involved with the local group, but for personal reasons has some issues that are currently preventing him from doing so. I'd like to get in touch with some folks down there, preferably people I know (just can't remember who's down there) so I can get him in touch with them.

Here then gone again

I'm home. Slightly sick, but getting over it.

SOLAR was a BLAST. Must go back to Cerroneth. I know most folks around here won't want to go all the way down there, but if peeps are still interested in going back to the local group I can forgo heading down to Miss to play with you guys. However I do know that many have been wanting to try Forest of Doors rather than SOLAR, so that's fine too. There is a local SOLAR event while I'm gone (June 29-July1), but the next one I can go to is the first weekend of August (both groups, same weekend). One thing people might like, but the prices are slightly different for Cerronth than for Clanthia. In all honesty, the only reasons I'd come play Clanthia is if my local friends want to go play and possibly only to get the GOB I"ve made there cashed in. And if anyone is willing to drive down there with me to MS, I can almost guarantee we can team up with some other groups so we wouldn't be alone and totally noobish. Hell, after one event I'm already at level 5 and I'd be perfectly willing to help guide everyone to get like that from the get go. I can also help folks get their characters made and prepare you for how things work, cause it is TOTALLY different from monstering. But anyway...

Oh, for those interested in the SCA stuff, there is a newcomers event up in TN (not too far away) called "Back to Basics", but it's while I'm gone. However, I'm sure that one or more of the local SCA people are either already planning on going or will go if asked. After I get back, there is a pretty local event (up in Gainsville, GA) called the Royal University of Meridies (RUM) which is almost ALL classes about just about everything under the sun. And it's only $26 bucks, including food (cept for sat lunch, which is a fundraiser) and lodging. Anyone wanting to go, please contact me so I can pre-reg for all of us and make sure we get in the same cabin, unless folks want to tent, which I can probably arrange as well.

Tomorrow Morning I fly to Michigan and won't be back until July 11. Folks, please take care of Pat. Love you all and Miss everyone. Wish there was time to see peeps before I go.

Tonight is either Fighter Practice or going to see Shrek 3 with Pat. Or maybe somewhat both. Anyway.. laters!

Good Pho!

  • May. 23rd, 2007 at 8:54 PM
Happy
Tonight after I picked Pat up from work we went to the "Pho and Com" (pronounced CUM) restaurant that's on HWY 92, east of sandy springs in the same shopping area where the Mellow Mushroom is.

OMG! It's sooo nice to have good Pho again! And not only is it good noodles, but they put the cilantro and stuff on the side so you can season it yourself. Apparently that's the traditional way to serve Pho. I STRONGLY suggest to anyone who's up that way to go try it out. It's WELL worth the drive too. They do pick ups and delivery (within 5 miles) too. I also suggest trying the smoothies. It's very unique and not like other smoothies, but they are good, or at least the strawberry is. I think they make it with strawberry yogurt cause it's a weird but good strawberry flavor. I recognize it and am sure it's from some yogurt I've had, don't know which one.

--

Anyway, today has been really good. Was tired when I woke up, but got moving pretty quick. It was funny cause when the alarm went off the second time I reached over and hit Pat and said "What are you still doing here?". Apparently he'd hit the snooze and it was still the 'first' alarm (my second one goes off at 10am). So I got up and moving but grumply.

Dropped Pat off at work and then made the bad decision to stop by Dick Blicks on my way to my appointment. >_> Was SOO hard not to get the primary color pack of the good Winsor Newton gouches. It was only $36.39!! ;_; I managed to pry it out of my hands and instead go with the crappy Reeves set for only six bucks. Did get some Gum Arabic so hopefully it will help the crappy paints not be that bad. I pulled out an old Onyx Chalice Gleann Abhann blank scroll I had left in my SCA stuff (which is no longer exits because they became a kingdom) and have started practicing with the crappy paints. The blue and red were working ok, but the greens, which I had to mix to make an acceptable color, were not mixing well and are not even. Dunno how I'm going to fix it other than going over it later with another coat to make it completely opaque. I need a better light though, the desk lamp I have is still too dim to make it light up like I need it. Need a real desk lamp to shine down on my work. *sighs* Probably get that when I get my real drafting table. Oh well. It feels good to be able to do the illumination again. It's one of the things that I'm actually really good at.

Had a good lunch with [info]android18sl after my appointment. Chatted about a lot of things, and was just a lot of fun. Made it back home to play with my paints and River for an hour before driving to go get Pat. Unfortunately I hadn't seen his LJ and had to wait around his office for over an hour before we could leave for dinner. I'm so proud of him for his job, even when it is inconvenient. He's gonna have to work this weekend, which is sad. Was looking forward to everyone being able to hang out, and will be weird not having him with me at the RenFaire (which its still in doubt if he'll have to work sunday or not, he might be able to go). Just.. trying not to really look forward to everyone coming over, just in case things go to shit and no one shows up. Too many times plans go awry and there isn't anything anyone can do about it. Just don't want to get my hopes up and then get depressed because it all goes wrong. If no one comes down, then I'm still going to go to the Ren Faire on sunday, hopefully with local peeps even if my out of state friends don't make it.

Anyway, now just relaxing at home. Think I'm going to head back and keep working on my illumination. I need to see if I can find my gold paint, however it was weird stuff that required turpentine to clean the brushes with. That's why I like watercolor based paints the best. Easy clean up!! Maybe I might try my hand at actual gold leaf overlay sometime. Still looking forward to having someone help me learn how to make original scrolls. *happy dance* Maybe I can get all my supplies before heading to Michigan so I can work on them up there. Who knows?!

Oh, BTW, if you want to know how the Illumination scroll work works, see this old scroll I dug up while I was cleaning. Too bad it's yet another scroll for a now debunk award. *shrugs* Still pretty. If you want better examples, try this page.

Feels soo good!

Today has been a KICK ASS DAY!

Need more days like this.

First off, started work cleaning out the den. Got one corner cleaned out and in my head went "What the fuck, I have a carpet knife, what could go wrong?" and then proceeded to cut out the area of the carpet that had the worst of the cat pee. Roll up the strip of carpet, put it in the trash, then start to pull up the padding.. and what do I find?

Beautiful hardwood floors.

That's right.. The entire den is nice hardwood just like what's in the hallway. This makes me happy to no end! The only problem is that some of the wood under the worst of it all are actually ruined and will have to be replaced. However, replacing a few boards beats having to redo the entire floor. Talked to Pat, and apparently the entire upstairs is the same, excepting the living room which used to be the carport. So I'm slowly getting all the carpeting out, then going to somehow have to get the carpet tack strips up (they are nailed into the floor) without damaging the floors themselves.Once I get the den done, will probably go into the library and pull that out next. This will mean the bookshelves we have will actually lay right rather than keep tilting dangerously (probably do to the carpet tack strips).

So that was really really kick ass.

Then, [info]omgdontlook and I head over to the local SCA fighter practice. SOO much fun. I can't begin to tell you how good it felt to be around Scadains again. [info]quu was asking me later what was so different about Scadains verses 'normal' people, and we finally pegged it. In the SCA, you stand on your own merits, your own skills. You are either a good fighter, or you are not. You are either able to create beautiful things, or you are not. There is no 'epeen'. So the SCA acts as a 'filter'. Those who are flaky and want 'epeen' so bad, just don't stick around. You still get some people who are drama whores, not to mention people who develop their cliques, but they all still have a certain maturity that the others lack. The people with lackluster skills are the underdog types who don't care if they are good or not, they are there to have fun. The people who -do- have the skills, have done things to EARN the respect others give them. Hope this makes sense.

Anyway, we arrived and met up with [info]allicat42 and her husband, stood around and talked to people. I met up with the seneschal who also hosts the scroll painting workshops. She also does, or at least helps teach, original scroll work. Something that I've always been interested in. Mostly just stood around and talked alot. Met people, but I know I'll forget names very quickly. The important thing is to meet them. After it got dark we went to Chilies with a group of people and had dinner, chatted and just hung out. Got to talk to the A&S officer who's really nice. She did say they were about to have some really good classes coming up next month, one of which was woodworking, and the other I don't remember what it was. I'll post later dates and times, even if I can't go.

The best part was that [info]quu actually showed up and joined us at the park. I can't begin to tell him or anyone else how much it means to me for him to actually come to something that -I- want to do. I know he'll never be big into the SCA, but that he's willing to go with me and have fun anyway is just... priceless. I love you soo much baby!

Soo.. day was good. I'm tired, and I'm sore (no I didn't fight).

Marietta SCA Fighter Practice

I have been on an SCA kick today. Ran into a few things, made some suggestions to a few friends, and stirred up a LOT of memories (also got an SCA page up on my site). One of the things I love the most about the SCA is that the local meetings are free (some A&S classes ask for material funds, but that's RARE).

Finally was poking around the Owl's Nest site, and saw they are closing their yahoo group and moving to a forum. The forum seems pretty active too.

Anyway, found out they finally moved their fighter practices over to Bell's Ferry Park (just south of Barret Parkway). It's every Tue from 7-10pm. Like my old group, Grey Niche, it's not just fighter practice, but a social get together as well. Anyone up for going sometime? I doubt anyone will get home tonight in time to go, but maybe next week.

Guess I'm just getting stir crazy sitting in the house all day anymore.

Oh, also, there is an SCA event nearby this weekend, stupid me never checked *sigh*: Lusty Month of May

Lonely, Flirt
My old SCA friend [info]beau_nidle and his fiance were on their way to Orlando for a week and were passing through. He gave me a call and we ended up catching a late dinner at Rosario's. Funny how when we meet we're always eating italian.

It was good catcing up with him. His fiance is a wonderfully sweet woman who works with the Nashville ballet and symphonic orchestra (er.. i think that's the right one). Both he and Quu had a great time talking about germany. It was fun listening to all the different places he's been, foods he's eaten. It was just a fun evening.

It really hit home how much I miss my old friends in Memphis and the SCA. I've lost touch with just about everyone. But, like my therapist said... I get back in touch and it's like we've never been apart. Things to catch up on, but no awkwardness. That part is the only thing that I find reassuring. I mean.. what would you rather have: sit around, bemoaning and depressed because you miss your distant friends; or going on with your life, remembering the fun times, and enjoying what little time you're able to have when you have it? Some people I really do miss... I want to go hang out, grab a drink and food and catch a movie... anything. But I try not to let it bring me down. Instead I'm trying desperately to get my life in order so I can go back and visit those distant friends more.

I hope I can go to Samhain up in memphis this year, it's Orc Wars time again.

Female Leather Armor:
I was surfing the net today looking for some references for armor and found this site. It's the ONLY online armours who have -functional- leather armor for women. Not to mention the pricing is kinda good. Buying leather armor is gonna be expensive, but this seems real competitive with the other's I've seen today.

SCA Device

One of the things i found was this post about my device passing the meridian herald. I never did hear back about the college of heralds, so I went to their archive site and started looking through the old notes. Sept 2002:

Lethann ingen Áeda.  Device. Azure, a phoenix argent and in chief two harps Or all within a bordure rayonny argent.

The rayonny line of division is drawn with too many and too small repeats to be acceptable. There are about 20 repeats across the top and 30 down each side: a good four or five times more than the usual standard number. Because each repeat of the line is so small, the line of partition has lost any ability to be distinguished from indented.

I'm kinda pissed because the only reason it was not passed was an artistic error. *sighs* Though I think it's nice to know that if I decide to go back, I know the one thing I can do to make it pass. *shrugs*

Well.. that is that. All my stuff is out of Memphis. Aside from my friends, I really have no ties there now. I left my keys there and no longer have a place to stay. It's kinda depressing, yet strangely exciting now. This really is my home now.

I sit here in my office and I'm reading the new Pop Chiv and I just happened to glance through the Pennon Herald's Report half-heartedly. You see.. I submitted my device (or Coat of Arms) shortly after my first Gulf Wars back in 2000. Until this very moment, I'd never heard back on ANYTHING about it...

"The Following items were PASSED by the Pennon Herald on May 31, 2002:
etc etc etc
Lethann ingen Aeda: Device.
etc etc etc"

So what does this mean?

Well, anyone can register a device with the College of Heralds in the SCA. That means that no one else can carry your arms. They are YOUR'S. It's sorta like copyrighting them. The Pennon Herald is our Kingdom's herald. It has one last step before being registered, and that is with the Laural Soverign at Arms. Once I hear back I'll be totally happy!!!

Today...

Wow.. today has been.. strange...

I woke up this morning groggy and wanting to go back to sleep. *sigh* Ok.. so I wake up like that just about EVERY morning.. :-p I was late for work, got slammed almost as soon as I walked into the door, hated my job even more, and to top it off, [info]quu was heading to North Carolina for Animazement. ¬.¬;;

Luch came eventually, Subway again, and I find that they are no longer carrying my fav dressing: asaigo ceaser. CRAPOLA! But I did get a chance to talk with the Manager who said that a LOT of people complained about it.. maybe they'll bring it back. *pouts* Anyway... I got to chat with Celesta then we parted to go back to our cells. *sigh* I hate my job.

Anyway.. I get back and have more work to do... I was feeling POed more than anything. But in a way it was making me feel better. *shrugs* go fig...

The day goes on, Quu called to say goodbye before he hit the road, then the day took a sudden turn.

After editing my Interests, I started going through the communities and seeing if any caught my eye... I found a few through my friends, and started posting on a few here and there, mostly comments. A post came over the [info]lj_nifty community about the Semagic client, which I was confused about because the last I had heard [info]sema had pulled Semagic because of the Visions/WSpell contravorsy. CLICK HERE to take a look at it. Anyway.. I ended up talking a LOT about [info]lochjournal and even found out that Semagic can't hold a candle to LochJ. W00T!

Then a post came through on the [info]sca community, it was someone from my area. Coolage! As you can see, we started a "reply war" and found out that we had sorta met! Neato! This was totally awesome! By the time I found the second person in the topic I was almost HAPPY!

I look at the clock at this point, Almost 7pm. Damn.. I wanna go home! So I do. While heading out I grab my PDA and start typing up an entry about the day. When I get home I decide to go ahead and sync my PDA and just edit it online. I sync it and the entry dissapears! UG! So now I am having to retype this whole entry. Oh well.. I'm still in a fairly good mood...

I guess that's it for now.

I had almost forgotten!!!

Saturday, when I was getting ready to go out with Kestrel and Ms. T, one of my SCA friends called me who I hadn't heard from since the end of last year.

Disa, do you remember back at your birthday when we were in Nashville and had time to kill? I called around to the couple friends I had there and they were all out, including one who had gone into Boot Camp? Well he called me out of no where on Saturday. ^_^

Roderick, that's his SCA name, is now out of Boot Camp and in technical training over near Little Rock. He was wanting contact phone numbers and so forth cause he doesn't have a car and misses everyone. Anyway.... I just wanted to mention that before stupid me forgot.

Saltare

Oh Yippiee!!!

This past weekend was Saltare, my favorate event of all time! Here's a rundown on what happened:

FRIDAY
Work was slow and borning. I was the only one here, with Susan sick and Lynne having tests done. Cause Celesta and I never decided on what to do, I didn't eat lunch. Oh well. At least I had leftovers from the Grand Rounds that morning. Bagles, Fruit, OJ, etc...

Oh well.. after work I went home and packed hurridly. Called Arwen and ran over to pick her up. We swung by McDonalds (Chicken Nuggets are Perfect for on-the-road eating!) on our way out of town and were on our way by 7:00pm.

The trip was pretty uneventful, with a stop for gas along the way but not much else. The only rather exciting thing that happened was that just north of Birmingham there was a detour that took us WAY ouf of the way then we missed our turn to get on the expressway. *sigh* But all in all, we made it to the hotel by 11:30pm. Fortunatly Tatiana was in the room so we could unload our stuff, but they had given our roomkey to Caedmon for some odd reason. So we headed up to the Hospility Suite to find Caedmon and Todd and anyone else still awake to say hello.

When we got up to the suite, we found Todd, Caedmon, Master William, Bill-the-Cat, Doc, and all sorts of others. Arwen and I sat down, chatted a bit, then eventually got our room key and headed back to the room and crashed.

It was funny, for as tired as we all were, we stayed up chatting in the dark. The funniest thing was that Tatiana couldn't get to sleep. I ended up calling up to Caedmon's room to tell Todd this. It was all to funny.

In the End, we all fell asleep.

Saturday

Woke up bright and early! NOT! I dragged my butt outta bed saturday morning, don't really remember the time. *sigh* Needless to say it was well in time for my 10:30 class. First on the list? Begining Italian Dance.

What the schedule failed to mention, much to my delight, was that this was Beginning 16th Century Italian Dance! Yippiee! Dances I didn't know! It was soo much fun, even though we spent the entire time on like two dances. Oh it was soo fun. Next was the Intermediate Italian class which, truth be told, I should have skipped. *sigh* It had Gallards (the jumpie steps). Tatiana twisted her ankle, so she and Todd got out of it. But the next day I paid the price. Oh well. Anyway, where was I? oh yea... second class... Well.. we all made it through. The third class was by Master Saun and was fun. One of the dances we learned has "Scurring" in it and the guys just had a lot of fun with it. Needless to say our group of dancers suddenly started laughing and the other dancers couldn't figure out why. Tee hee

Next came lunch.

A group of us decided to eat there at the hotel resturant, which turned out to be a very bad decision. The waitress was scatterbrained and downright rude and they even got our orders all mixed up. Most of us ended up being late for our last class, which was Phillip's Advanced English Country Dance (ECD). I went down there and was the oddball out and they were dancing something I already knew. In fact all of them I knew so I basically skipped it.

Dinner we walked up to Ruby Tuesdays which was fairly good. I forgot who all went, I know Tatiana, Todd, Caedmon, Julianna, Bill, Master William and a few others went. We filtered out and headed back to get ready for the ball, which was really nice. I managed to get my red dress done in time and it looked good. Bill-the-Cat has pictures somewhere. Maybe I'll get them and upload them to the gallery one day.

The next morning we had brunch at the bagel shoppe that was across the street before heading out. It was fun being able to say hello and whatnot, but because I had to get Julanna back to Memphis we had to bug out of there fairly quickly. The drive back was uneventful to my memory and Fighter Practice was ok.

Samhain 2001

Here is the Knight Marshal's report from the battles at Samhain. Caedmon had posted it to the greyniche email list.
It was a cold October morning on a high mountain pass in the Carpathians when a patrol of Count Vladimir came across a scouting party for an invading Turkish army. Count Vladimir's forces quickly set upon the Turks, driving them into retreat with a determined attack. They pursued the fleeing Turks for some distance, until finally the invaders managed to regroup and fight a pitched battle upon a high mountain plateau. The groups clashed and withdrew time and again until it became apparent that the invading Turks could not hope to overcome the Count's forces there. The Turks reteated towards the river hoping to make a stand at the bridge, but many were slaughtered before they could reach it. It was here, however, at the so-called "River of Blood," that the Sultan's reinforcements arrived by ship to harry the Count's men on the bridge and land troops across the river behind the forces of Dracul. Stunned by the sudden arrival of the Sultan's reinforcements, Vlad's Men were forced to withdraw to a nearby mountain fortress whereupon a great siege commenced. While the Turks distracted the Count's men with a vicious frontal assault upon the gate, sappers created a breach in the east wall. The Sultan's army poured into the castle, and a bloody battle took place in the courtyard. With their backs pressed up against the wall and no more retreat possible, Count Vladimir's knights and en-at-arms set themselves against the invading host, and with great ferocity slew the Turks to the man. Some say that the Lord Dracul himself did manifest in the courtyard from a mist to impale the invaders upon long pikes with a supernatural ease. Other, more reliable sources tell us that the great Tar Radu - King of distant Meridies - happened to be a guest at the castle and turned the tide in favor of Vladimir. The truth is lost in the haze of history, for we know that not long afterwards, Count Vladimir - frustrated with the bickering of petty nobles - locked them inside this castle and burned to the ground, along with all written accounts of the battle.

"Yes, Vampires are Period!"

Friday

I went into work early so I could leave early. I got home a little after 4pm and packed. Took a shower, called Juliana at about 5:30 or so I think. I finished packing the car (and unpacking it) before driving over and getting her. Had to stop by the Exxon station to get batteries and something to drink for the weekend.

By 7:00 pm we were on the road. I got to site late, and fortunately ran into Ebo who pointed out where everyone was camped. We ended up being behind Orphelia, Aethrick, Reagen, Zhara and a few others.

Not much happened that night.. it was soo cold. Spent time up in the Main hall chatting with people before going with Ebo and Genevra down to Doc and Genevra's tent. They had a space heater set up in their tent and it was probably the warmest place on site. A fairly big group was down there: Doc, Genevra, Todd, Caedmon, Ebo, James(?), Kate and a couple that I've met but don't know their names. Eventually Ambrose and Aethrick showed up. All in all it was fun, though when the party in the tent broke up I was not too happy for reasons I won't go into here.

From there I went to Hamish's fire pit and stayed there till 1:30 am when I finely crashed. I found out Magnus the Black is now a free agent. He's such a sweetie. Oh well...

Saturday

Woke up to a freezing tent.. YUCK! We stayed in our blankets until 9:00 am and the tent was somewhat warm. I got up, went to the main hall, had some coffee then went to Carl's "Vlad the Impaler" class. It was very interesting. Covered the history of the region and exactly the circumstances he ruled under. Needless to say it ran over. Diaminio's "History of the Vampire" class was after that which was really neat too.
After that class I ran into the Kitchen to help with lunch.. I was soo late. I should have been there an hour earlier. I stayed there through lunch and a little afterwards, only leaving when I had to go move the Loaner Garb out of the hall.

I was so tired that I went back to the tent and crashed for an hour before court was to start. It was an hour late, then lasted 3 hours! Some memorable events:
  • Kat the Strange was taken as a protegee
  • Linnet took a protegee
  • Genevra was apprenticed by Mistress Vashti
  • A hand full of people joined Irish Keep (including Simon and Amelia)
  • House Dragon's Bower was added to (Gerald, Luca, and Catronia I think)
  • Caedmon got his Denial (yet still doesn't have his Estoile), along with Asling
  • Catronia, Lucca, Nim, all got Estoiles and AOAs
  • Arwen got an Estoile
  • Diana got the Order of the Cignet
  • Baron Gillimero died from a grievous wound he received at the Three Rivers War, causing our beloved Baroness to go into shock and totally forget who she was and where she was. She reverted back to her native tongue left to return to her chateau, leaving us with out leadership. The Wise Women were called forth who stated that the best person to consult to lead our barony after such tragic happenings. She accepted the grave responsibility to become Baroness of Grey Niche.

I don't remember much else happening, though there was lots. Eventually feast got started and it was rather good. A food fight with the grapes ensued between our table and Roderick's. After a brief interlude for me just before the first remove All was a good evening. Had lost more uncolato drink and flurted up a storm. I left rather early and crashed a bit before the ball.

The ball was fun. First dance was the Hole in the Wall, and at first it looked like I was going to have to sit it out cause all the guys who said they wanted to dance with me already had partners...
at least Corwin was standing there and I grabbed him. :-) Danced with Ambrose for the most part, once or twice with Hamish. Got to dance John Tallowswith Brandr and Amrosowith Ebo (Who's really improved!!). Caedmon actually asked me to dance Rostobilli(since i was the one who requested it and one of the few people who knows how to dance it). I messed up the first part, but felt better when he messed up the verse. *laugh*

I left with Celesta during the final dance (Trenchmore) cause I was the only one who knew how to light the heater Bill loaned us. I got back after it was over. Hung around for a bit, then started meandering. I finely went up to the hall and amassed a troupe to go wandering. We finely ended up at a fire down near Shadow Legion (who was all asleep!). I think we stayed there till 3 am when the fire was dying down. It was still going, but was down to the embers and just kinda smoldering. We decided to head up to the hall and check the fire there.

As soon as we got there I took over the fire and was able to make it all but roar. *grin* Yes, I amthe Fire Goddess! We stayed there till almost 5 am. Poor Ambrose suffered from my mounting rage and I really ripped into him. I need to apologize to him. :-( Eventually I passed out without doing any bodily damage to anyone.

Sunday

Dawn broke and all was frozen through out the land. The heater had gone out and we were freezing. Celesta was up and out before 8am and I didn't get out till almost 10 I think.. All I knew was that sleeping didn't help and I needed to get offsite ASAP. We packed up the car and I gave Waffle back his picture and air mattress, showing the picture off to everyone I came across. *grin*

After grabbing the last of the loaner garb we went down to see Roderick and company packing up. We waited around, helped a bit (Juliana more than me, who was pretty much good for nothing), then they and Hamish followed us to the Wendy's for lunch before they left town.

Afterwards I dropped Juliana off then went home to sleep.

So that was the event. Not much, but enough.

Writing
Yea yea.. I haven't written a thing since 911. But then I've been rather busy.

For starters, my 911 page is up: http://www.thesilverphoenix.com/911/ please take a look and let me know what you think.

I've also done a rather major overhaul on the site, most of it is in the file management, but I have cleaned up some of the pages....

OH Oh oh! We won the bid for Lugh 2002! We're calling it "Halla-LUGH-ya" and it's an Afterlife themed event. I'm really looking forward to it. My head is on the chopping block as Autocrat and Astrith is the Feastocrat. Tat'iana is heading up all the Fighting and Field activities and Celesta is doing reservations and being Hall Steward. The refrain has been "What have we (or just Debra) gotten into?". *laugh* This is going to be fun... a lot of hard work, but fun.

Let's see... My car is in the shop getting the transmission rebuilt. That stinks. It's going to cost me around $1000 to get it fixed. At least I can afford it now that I'm not having to pay for my Car Loan.

Celesta got me the Diablo 2 Expansion Pack for an early Christmas present! I absolutely LOVE it!! My Amazon is already up to lvl 38 (this is my first and favorite character) and my Assassin is up to lvl 22 or 23 so far (and I'm not even out of the 2nd act yet!!!). I love it lots!

On the bad side, my right arm is really messed up. My pinky finger has been kinda numb now for at least a day, if not more. My elbow hurts as well as my shoulder. Looks like I'm going to have to go to the doctor sometime next week and get it looked at. This doesn't bode well, feels like CT has firmly set in. Yuck.

I can't really think of anything else right now, though I know I have tons to write. :-( Oh well...
