Dear Friends

Yesterday Quu and I went to see Dear Friends, the Final Fantasy Symphony concert. Words can not begin to describe how wonderful it was. Unfortunately we missed the opening number, FF8's Liberi Fatali, mostly cause i made us late and then we sorta got lost due to a construction detour that put us on the wrong Peachtree Street. *sigh*

To say the music was emotional and beautiful just doesn't do it justice. Many times throughout the night I was teary-eyed. To finally hear such music finally done justice is just amazing. They pretty much did at least one song from each game, including FFonline, or at least the ones he worked on. (No Crystal Chronicles, Tactics, Tactics Advanced, or Mystic Quest.) They had some projector screens set up to show the Symphony, Conductor and even shots from the FMVs from the games.

I must say, though, THE most powerful piece was the 1-3 Medley. It opened with the Crystal Theme that was in one and four (us 2) and I was bawling. It's ALWAYS been my fav of all the FF music. It also included the Chocobo Theme, and just about everyone in the symphony was smiling and having a blast playing it. Now I want Origins so I can play them again. I could go play on my emulator but it's just not the same. Quu and I are even thinking of giving 9 a shot now, since we've pretty much skipped it completely. Now i just can't wait to see Advent Children and for XII to come out. *cries*

I'm just super emotional right now.

Anyway.. after the concert (and during intermission) we got to see everyone and say Hi. There were a LOT of us there, though most everyone was back in row L & M while Quu and I were in row E. MY GOD we had EXCELLENT seats! Right smack dab in the middle and just out of spitting distance. ^^ Once we all parted ways, Quu and I went to Fogo De Chao with [info]drlaurac and her husband. It was a very enjoyable dinner. Pigged out on the meat, especially the Fillet, it was just MOUTHWATERING! Had dessert of the Strawberry Cream and an Irish Coffee, was super tipsy from both afterwards. We got to talk about a lot of stuff from pets to games to HAM radios... o.O *giggle*

By the time we made it home I was feeling sleepy and River was going nutz. PUPPY CHUNKS!!! We got her calmed down and just went right to sleep. Slept like a baby till like 5am when I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. After I post this I think I'll go curl up with Quu again.

Quu brought home or Symphony tickets for "Dear Friends" the Final Fantasy music. I mostly wanted to just know the dates and times, but now I'm freaking out cause we have like the most excellent seats i've ever had!!! Left Orchestra Row E, seats 19-20 = TRANSLATION: 5 rows from the stage, practically dead center! (center seats are 23)

Happy
After a quick phone call to my sister, we found out that they do have broadband and it was decided to get me a laptop for while i'm up north. First stop was Moe's for lunch, then we headed over to Costco to see what deals they had. Didn't really like what they had so next stop was Best Buy. Found something there we liked, an Emachine. We would have bought it cept in the end it was found that they only have one memory slot and they didn't have a gig stick to put in it. We left and tried over at Microcenter. There we found two that were better than what we saw at Best Buy. One was a TINY 14-15 inch funky brand and the other was a 17 inch Compact. Guess which one I decided on?

It's a Presario x6050US, an actual desktop replacement. No moble processor for this baby, it's got an actual Pentium 4! Combine that with the ATI X300 and the fact that it has a FULL keyboard and I was sold. Along with the laptop we also picked up some accessories: bag, mouse, usb light (really nifty!) and a lap desk thingy (a folding piece of plastic that has traction points on it as well as ventlation areas, MOUSE ROOM!). Also picked up a new wrist support that has a built in wrist support. I really like it.

We got home, and while [info]quu went outside to play with the puppy I started unwrapping my new toy. *drools* I LOVE it! Quu and River came inside and he took over getting everything sorted out on the puter while I got us some dinner. After he was done I copied over the World of Warcraft directories and was ready to go! (it's just that easy to transfer the stuipd program! Just get the WoW folder and the Bliz Ent folder in the "common files". Sheesh!) I'm still playing with all the settings, but so far it's wonderful. We don't have the new ram yet (only 512MB and everyone was sold out of the needed ram) but Quu promises that before I leave I'll have at LEAST 1gig if not 2 gig of ram for my puter. I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!

As I type this i'm sitting in bed while Quu snores away. I was playing WOW but the server crashed and kicked me off. Oh well.. used to that.

So now I think I'll go get some more needed things like AdAware and stuff on this computer. At least we got a deal with Norton Antivirus with the laptop and I've got that. Now if only I can figure out how to copy over my fishes from Insainequarium....
