Ivanhoe did that to me. I tried reading it about 5 times...fell asleep on the third or fourth page. Really I think the only reason people think Wuthering Heights is great is because of how long it's survived. I can picture old men sitting around a table trying to decide which book they should torture future generations into reading and one particularly bitter old codger suggesting Bronte's book.
